The Anna Police Department asks that you make Back to School Safety a priority by reminding motorists and pedestrians of safe transportation practices and to observe applicable laws near school zones. Please be courteous and cautious when approaching cross walks and stop for loading and unloading school buses. And as always, reduce any distractions inside your car so you can concentrate on the road and your surroundings. Put down your phone and don’t talk or text while driving.
In 2016 the City of Anna passed Ordinance 2016-10 permitting the use of certain non-highway vehicles on certain streets and roads within it’s corporate limits. With this ordinance there are regulations in effect to help keep our community safe, some of them include having current liability insurance for the vehicle, the operator must be 21 years of age with a valid Driver’s License, and all persons who operate a non-highway vehicle must comply with all traffic laws of the State of Illinois and the City of Anna. To obtain the Ordinance you can find it on our Forms page or click here. To obtain a one year permit, applications can be found at the Anna Police Department, please stop by and pick one up!
Thank you for your cooperation,
