Union County Emergency Notification System “Hyper-Reach”
April 15, 2019
Union County is proud to announce the Hyper-Reach Mass Notification service to the citizens of Union County. This service was a joint purchase between Union County Emergency Services, A-J, Anna, Cobden, Dongola, Jonesboro, Lick Creek, Shawnee and Tri County School Districts, City of Anna, Village of Cobden, Village of Dongola and the City of Jonesboro. Telephone-based mass notifications systems are used by thousands of public safety agencies across the US to warn citizens about local emergencies, hazards and other threats. Now Union County announces that they have selected Hyper-Reach to help bring this same lifesaving capability to the area. Hyper-Reach is a state of the art mass emergency notification system designed specifically for public safety. This emergency alert system will provide rapid notification of hazardous and urgent situations using a mix of telephone calls, text and email messages, and even TTY/TDD service for the hearing impaired. For for more information contact Crystal Gurley, 9-1-1 Director, at 833-5442. To enroll for this service click here.

In 2016 the City of Anna passed Ordinance 2016-10 permitting the use of certain non-highway vehicles on certain streets and roads within it's corporate limits. With this ordinance there are regulations in effect to help keep our community safe, some of them include having current liability insurance for the vehicle, the operator must be 21 years of age with a valid Driver's License, and all persons who operate a non-highway vehicle must comply with all traffic laws of the State of Illinois and the City of Anna. To obtain the Ordinance you can find it on our Forms page or click here. To obtain a one year permit, applications can be found at the Anna Police Department, please stop by and pick one up! Thank you for your cooperation, City Hall

The site is still very new, so if you happen upon an issue or a bit of missing information, please let us know so we can address the situation! With any big project, there's going to be some time required in getting to know the new system and working out all the little kinks that may pop up here and there. We hope you'll visit the site frequently to stay in touch with news and events in our community, as well as take advantage of things like our new alert system (will show at the top of every page when there's time-critical information to share), events calendar, frequently requested forms & documents, and more!
New Alert System
May 25, 2018
Depending on when you visited our new website lately, you might've noticed an orange bar across the top of the pages! This orange bar is our all new community alert system. When the need arises, we'll use this system to bring your attention to information of all kinds, such as boil water orders, road closures and other things of that nature. This message system is not intended to replace emergency alert systems such as storm sirens or 911 and you should not rely solely on this system for your emergency info! Customers can also sign up for our newsletter and receive these important messages via email. We implemented this simply to act as another avenue through which we can make our community aware of important things going on in the area!
