Water Infrastructure – ARPA Project

The City of Anna received $557,659.16 in ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) Funds.

Plans

The city determined that the best use of the ARPA funds was to improve the water infrastructure in the city with a focus on valves and fire hydrants. The city performed a valve and hydrant inspection in May 2020 and we utilized this data to put together a list of valves and hydrants to be replaced with the ARPA funds.

Users

Everyone in the city utilizes the water infrastructure in one way or another. This project is to improve infrastructure across the board. Additional valves and replacement of broken valves can help isolate areas/issues in the future, reduce the impact area and have fewer/smaller outages and boil water orders. It is also imperative to have operational fire hydrants, so the city has been replacing any broken or leaking hydrants as part of this project.

Timeline

The project began in June 2024 and should wrap up in early Fall 2024.
