Payroll Clerk (Full-Time/Part-Time): The City of Anna is accepting applications for the position of Full-Time/Part-Time Payroll Clerk.  Applicants must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent. The position will average 30 hours a week with a max of 1500 hours per year. Hourly rate is $17.26 and includes some insurance and retirement benefits. Candidates must have a positive attitude, exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, and strong interpersonal skills. Previous payroll and/or human resources experience is required. Duties include but not limited to: collect timekeeping information of employees, manage benefit packages with payroll software and accurately calculate pay according to the hours worked, manage any employee questions regarding payroll and investigate and resolve any errors in payroll in a timely manner, be able to operate basic office equipment, proficient computer skills (including Microsoft Office), and basic accounting knowledge. This position will also manage the Human Resources function at the City of Anna and assist the City Treasurer with accounts payable, journal entries, bank reconciliations and other basic accounting functions. The City of Anna is accepting applications for the position of a Full-Time Police Officer.  Duties include but are not limited to enforcement of laws and ordinances, protection of life and property, order maintenance, apprehending suspects, monitoring traffic, as well as preserving the peace and service to our community. City of Anna, Paid On-Call Firefighters

To be eligible for this position the applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • Subject to random drug and alcohol testing, as well as background checks
  • High School Graduate 18 years of age or older
  • Be a resident of Union County-Preferably the Anna Response Area
  • Have a valid Class “C” Driver’s License; successful applicants will be required to obtain a Class “B” within 60 days of employment
  • Have reliable transportation with proof of valid insurance
  • Be physically fit and capable of performing all duties
  • No beards or goatees

**Experience preferred but not required, training will be provided by the department.**
