CITY OF ANNA, ILLINOIS NOTICE OF SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY

Pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, the City of Anna has declared the below listed Surplus Property List, as surplus personal property and offers the same for sale.

Said property may be inspected at the City Garage located on Market Street in the City of Anna and is sold in “AS IS” condition, without any implied or expressed warranties.

Sealed bids, identifying the above-described item, shall be received by the City Clerk during normal business hours, Monday through Friday at the Anna City Hall, 103 Market Street, Anna, IL through December 18, 2018. Minimum bids have been established and no bids for less than that amount will be accepted. A check or money order shall accompany all bids for not less that 10% of the bid.

All bids will be opened and read at the regular meeting of the Anna City Council to be held on December 18, 2018 at 5:00 at the Anna City Hall. The City of Anna reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

Gas and Water

New Service Information: Anyone in need of gas & water must come in person to Anna City Hall and complete a utility application. Photo ID of the renter and the property owner’s signature is required on the application before services can be turned on or transferred to the renter’s name.

The following deposits are required:

  • Gas: $175.00
  • Water: $75.00

Billing Policy

All utility bills are mailed out by the 5th of every month. Bills must be paid by 4:00 pm on the scheduled cut-off date or the utilities will be terminated. There will be no extensions! If the utilities are terminated, the City of Anna will not restore service until the previous balance and the current amount due are paid in full, along with all turn-off and turn-on fees that have been applied.

Attention Customers:

City ordinances prohibit anyone other than authorized City Personnel to turn City meters on or off. If you are in need of these services, please contact Anna City Hall at 833-8528. Please be cautioned that fines and meter repair costs may be imposed for violations of this policy.

Republic Trash Service for the City of Anna

Trash collection is Tuesday—Thursday with pick-up days determined by the route schedule you can find here.

Recycling pick-up is bi-weekly and runs on Fridays; you can find Republic’s recycling website link here, visiting the website can help you to find out what is appropriate to recycle.

If your trash is missed or you have any other questions regarding trash/recycling collection, please contact City Hall at 833-8528!

Republic Services observes the following holidays:

  • New Years Day
  • Memorial Day
  • 4th of July
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas

**For weeks in which one of the above holidays is observed, your pick up will run the day after your typical trash pick up day.

Big Clean-Up Week

The City of Anna offers a quarterly big trash clean up removal program and includes removal of most types of big trash. Tires, wiring, electronic devices (such as computers, TVs, printers, etc.) or excessive construction debris will not be picked-up in this program. All big trash should be set out the day before your regular pick-up day. Please be patient during this week, as the service may run behind schedule due to the increase in pick-up quantities.
